“Little Birds is an exceptional preschool and I’m so grateful that both of my children (ages 2 and 4) attended their program. My daughter attended the preschool program and my son attended the 2s program (a rare find in Seattle!). The teachers are experienced, knowledgeable, invested, and they genuinely care about the wellbeing of the kids. Each and every day, my children were welcomed with smiles and hugs; and at the end of the day, the goodbyes were equally warm, caring, and never rushed. Further, the teachers were always open to communicate about the kids, gave me advice about how to handle behavior at home, and were always advocates about what is best for the children. I also loved how we received a weekly email at the beginning of the week, sharing what the theme and activities were going to be.
The classrooms and curriculum were simply magical. The rooms were always stocked with meaningful, creative activities, and the curriculum seamlessly wove academic readiness and social development into fun, open ended projects. I felt that my children were not only exploring and innovating during the day, but they were learning their letters, numbers, and how to treat others with respect. Our daughter started at Little Birds when she was three and it was always such a welcoming and nurturing environment for her to grow and learn! It was so great to have in our lives especially after a year spent mostly at home. It is a smaller size with a good ratio which was a great introduction into a school environment. The teachers were so kind and supportive of our daughter and helped her navigate social skills which are so crucial at this age .Little birds was a great place for our daughter to start her school journey! Joah and the rest of the Little Birds team have been fantastic. We originally discovered Little Birds after our son experienced a mild speech delay. The school was recommended to us by an SLP and from the first time we toured the school, we knew it would be a perfect fit. Our son has attended the 2s and 3s class and loves going to school. He looks forward to it every week! We love the environment and the staff is so caring. We look forward to the lesson plan previews every week probably as much as our son does. Little Birds has been a wonderful experience with a small class size that’s very balanced and a very supportive staff. If we had to do it over again, we would still make the choice to attend Little Birds. My son’s time at Little Birds Learning with Teacher Joah was wonderful. He learned fun songs, made his first real friendships, and learned how to do drop-off preschool in a safe, calm, and fun space. Not only did he get much needed socialization in a nurturing environment, he got a much needed referral to get early childhood intervention. Without Joah’s gently delivered suggestion to seek more information about my son’s development, and guidance as to where to obtain it, my son would not be doing so well today.—Suzanne H., parent
